Noah (Nooh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 He said: O my people! verily I am unto you a warner manifest. 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 'My Lord' said he, 'night and day I have called my nation, 5 And my calling hath only increased them in fleeing. 6 And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: 7 Then I invited them publicly. 8 "Then verily, I proclaimed to them in public, and I have appealed to them in private, 9 And I told them: 'Ask your Lord to forgive you. He is verily forgiving. 10 He will let loose the sky upon you in abundance 11 And will give you increase of wealth and sons, and give you gardens and springs of water. 12 "'What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah,- 13 seeing that He has created [every one of] you in successive stages? 14 Behold ye not in what wise Allah hath created seven heavens in storeys. 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth so wondrously, 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 God has made the earth for you a spreading, 19 ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” 20
