Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Verily, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people (Saying): "Warn your people before there comes to them a painful torment." 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 (Bidding you): Serve Allah and keep your duty unto Him and obey me, 3 He will forgive you some of your faults and grant you a delay to an appointed term; surely the term of Allah when it comes is not postponed; did you but know! 4 'My Lord' said he, 'night and day I have called my nation, 5 but my call has only caused them to flee farther and farther away [from Thee]. 6 Evert time I invite them to Your (guidance) so that You can forgive them, they put their fingers into their ears, cover their heads with their clothes, persist in their disbelief and display extreme arrogance. 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 "Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, 9 and I said, "Ask you forgiveness of your Lord; surely He is ever All-forgiving, 10 He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth wide spread (an expanse). 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
