Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 That you should serve Allah and be careful of (your duty to) Him and obey me: 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 But my invitation increased them not except in flight. 6 And whenever I called them, that Thou mightest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, and wrapped them in their garments, and persisted, and waxed very proud. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 “Then I also told them publicly and also spoke to them softly in private.” 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 "'Give you increase in wealth and sons; and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers (of flowing water). 12 "'What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah,- 13 seeing that He has created [every one of] you in successive stages? 14 Do you not see how God has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 And has made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: 17 and to it He will return you. Then, He will bring you forth. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
