Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
We sent Noah to his people, saying, 'Warn thy people, ere there come on them a painful chastisement.' 1 He said: "O my People! I am to you a Warner, clear and open: 2 Worship Allah, fear Him, and obey me. 3 He will forgive you your sins and respite you till an appointed term. When the term of Allah arrives it cannot be deferred; if you but knew' 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 Then verily I have called unto them publicly 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 and I said, "Ask you forgiveness of your Lord; surely He is ever All-forgiving, 10 He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers 11 And He will add unto you riches and children and will appoint unto you gardens and will appoint unto you rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? 13 when He has created you through different stages of existence? 14 See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 God produced you from the earth like a vegetable growth; 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 And God has laid the earth for you as a carpet, 19 So that you may walk upon its spacious paths.' 20
