Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 He said, 'O my people, I am unto you a clear warner, 2 That you should worship God and fear Him, and follow me 3 so that He may forgive you some of your sins, and grant you respite until a term known [to Him alone]: but, behold, when the term appointed by God does come, it can never be put back - if you but knew it!" 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 but the more I called, the farther they fled. 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 and preached to them in public, and also addressed them in secret. 9 And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. 10 and He will loose heaven upon you in torrents 11 And will help you with wealth and sons, and will assign unto you Gardens and will assign unto you rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? 13 He has created you by stages! 14 Do you not see how Allah has created seven heavens, one upon the other, 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 That you may follow therein roads of passage.' " 20
