Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 “That you must worship Allah and fear Him, and obey me.” 3 Allah will forgive you of your sins and delay you for a specified term. Indeed, the time [set by] Allah, when it comes, will not be delayed, if you only knew.' " 4 Noah said, "My Lord, I have been preaching to my people, night and day, 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 Then I called them loudly and more openly, 8 And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. 9 I said to them: “Ask forgiveness from your Lord; surely He is Most Forgiving. 10 He will send you abundant 11 'And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers." 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 when He has created you in stages? 14 See ye not how Allah hath created seven heavens in harmony, 15 and made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp, 16 how God has produced you from the earth and caused you to grow, 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 That ye may thread the valley-ways thereof. 20
