Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Surely We sent Nuh to his people, saying: Warn your people before there come upon them a painful chastisement. 1 He said, "O my people, indeed I am to you a clear warner, 2 that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. Pay heed to me. 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 But the more I called, they only ran the farther away. 6 And whenever I have called them that Thou mayest forgive them, they put their fingers in their ears, cover themselves with their garments, and persist and are puffed up with pride: 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 And said, 'Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver. 10 He will let loose the sky for you in plenteous rain, 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 What has come upon you that you do not fear the majesty of God, 13 "'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages? 14 Have you not seen how Allah created the seven heavens one above the other, 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 Then He will return you into it and extract you [another] extraction. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
