Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: O my people! Surely I am a plain warner to you: 2 [Saying], 'Worship Allah, fear Him and obey me. 3 He will forgive your sins and give you a respite for an appointed time. When the time which God has appointed arrives, none will be able to postpone it. Would that you knew this!" 4 He said, “My Lord! I invited my people night and day.” 5 "But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight (from the truth). 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 Then I summoned them openly, 8 And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 rain from the sky, 12 "'What is amiss with you that you cannot look forward to God's majesty, 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 and placed therein the moon as a light and the sun as a torch. 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow as a growth from the earth, 17 Then He returns you to it, then will He bring you forth a (new) bringing forth: 18 "'And God has made the earth a wide expanse for you, 19 so that you walk in its spacious paths.' 20
