Noah (Nooh)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Bee (Al-nahl) before Abraham (Ibrahim)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 Noah said: “My people, I have certainly been sent as a clear warner to you, 2 that you should worship God [alone] and be conscious of Him. "Now do pay heed unto me, 3 That He may forgive you somewhat of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Lo! the term of Allah, when it cometh, cannot be delayed, if ye but knew. 4 He said: O my Lord! surely I have called my people by night and by day! 5 “So for them, my calling them increased their fleeing away.” 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 Then indeed I called them openly; 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will shower upon you heavenly blessings abundant, 11 ‘And will aid you with wealth and sons, and will create gardens for you and cause rivers to flow for you.’ 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 He has created you by stages! 14 "Have you not seen that God has created the seven heavens one above the other 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 And Allah hath caused you to grow from the earth as a growth. 17 He will make you return to it and then take you out of it again. 18 ‘And it is Allah Who made the earth a bed for you.’ 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
