Noah (Nooh)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
We sent Noah forth to his people, saying, "Warn your people before there comes upon them a grievous punishment." 1 He said: O my people! Lo! I am a plain warner unto you 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said: "O Lord, I called my people night and day, 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 “I then called them openly.” 8 And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. 9 "Ask for forgiveness of your Lord," I said. "Surely, He is the Forgiver. 10 "'He will send rain to you in abundance; 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you do not want the Greatness of Allah, 13 When He created you by (divers) stages? 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 And made the moon therein a light, and made the sun a lamp? 16 "'And Allah has produced you from the earth growing (gradually), 17 and [then] He will bring you forth [from It] in resurrection. 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 ‘So that you may tread the wide roads in it.’” 20
