Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). 7 "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 We realised that we could not weaken the power of God on earth, nor outpace Him by running away. 12 When we heard the guidance, we believed in it; and whosoever believes in his Lord, he shall fear neither paltriness nor vileness. 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 However, the deviators from the Truth will be the fuel for hell". 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. 19
