Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 "'And [now we know] that the foolish among us were wont to say outrageous things about God, 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 and that “some from among the humans used to seek protection of some among the jinn, and thus they increased the arrogance of the jinn”; 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 ‘And that we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky, to listen; so whoever now listens finds a fiery comet waiting for him.’ 9 And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary: we follow divergent paths. 11 "'And withal, we have come to know that we can never elude God [while we live] on earth, and that we can never elude Him by escaping [from life]. 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to Allah), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct: 14 But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.' 15 If they had followed the Path We would give to them abundant water to drink, 16 That We may test them thereby, and whoso turneth away from the remembrance of his Lord; He will thrust him into ever-growing torment. 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
