Jinns (Al-Jinn)
28 verses, revealed in Mecca after A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf) before Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 The dimwit one (the devil) among us has been telling confused lies about God. 4 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 and that “they thought, even as you thought, that Allah would never raise anyone (as a Messenger)”; 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 And of us there are some righteous, and of us are some otherwise; we have been following very diverse paths. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty. 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
