Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 "which guides to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”; 2 'And exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife, nor a son (or offspring or children). 3 'And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblis (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinns] used to utter against Allah that which was wrong and not right. 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 And that we know that we cannot escape Allah in the earth, nor can we escape Him by flight: 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed therein, and whoso believeth in his Lord, he feareth neither loss nor oppression. 13 "'Yet [it is true] that among us are such as have surrendered themselves to God - just as there are among us such as have abandoned themselves to wrongdoing. Now as for those who surrender themselves to Him - it is they that have attained to consciousness of what is right; 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 If they (the idolaters) tread the right path, We shall give them to drink of water in abundance 16 that We might try them therein. And whosoever turns away from the Remembrance of his Lord, He will thrust him into chastisement rigorous. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
