Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 Exalted is the glory of our Lord; He has neither wife nor son. 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; 13 Some of us are Muslims and some of us have deviated from the Truth. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right guidance. 14 And as for those who are unjust, they are firewood for hell. 15 And that if they should keep to the (right) way, We would certainly give them to drink of abundant water, 16 so that We may test them by it -- whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord shall be sternly punished. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
