Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that some jinns attentively listened to my recitation, so they said, ‘We have heard a unique Qur’an.’ 1 Guiding unto rectitude; wherefore we have believed therein, and we shall by no means associate with our Lord anyone. 2 and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course. 10 And some of us are the righteous, and some of us are otherwise; we are sects differing. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 So that We might try them with respect to it; and whoever turns aside from the reminder of his Lord, He will make him enter into an afflicting chastisement: 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 And when the slave of Allah stood up in prayer to Him, they crowded on him, almost stifling. 19
