Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 "which guides to the Right Way; so we have come to believe in it, and we will not associate aught with Our Lord in His Divinity”; 2 And that He-- exalted be the majesty of our Lord-- has not taken a consort, nor a son: 3 ‘And that the fool among us used to utter false exaggerations against Allah.’ 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 And indeed they imagined, even as ye imagined, that Allah will not raise any one. 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 'And as for us, since we have listened to the Guidance, we have accepted it: and any who believes in his Lord has no fear, either of a short (account) or of any injustice. 13 Some of us have surrendered (Muslims) and some of us have deviated. Those who surrendered sought the Right Path, 14 And as for the Qasitun (disbelievers who deviated from the Right Path), they shall be firewood for Hell, 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. 18 when God's servant stood up to pray to Him, they pressed close to him in great numbers, almost stifling him. 19
