Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say, (O Prophet), it was revealed to me that a band of jinn attentively listened to (the recitation of the Qur'an) and then (went back to their people) and said: “We have indeed heard a wonderful Qur'an" 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 ‘Whereas we thought that men and jinns would never fabricate a lie against Allah!’ 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 so much so that they came to think, as you [once] thought, that God would never [again] send forth anyone [as His apostle]. 7 "We went near the heavens but found it to be full of strong guards and shooting flames. 8 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him. 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 And that some of us are those who submit, and some of us are the deviators; so whoever submits, these aim at the right way: 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 That We might try them thereby. And whosoever turns away from the Reminder of his Lord (i.e. this Quran, and practice not its laws and orders), He will cause him to enter in a severe torment (i.e. Hell). 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
