Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 guiding to rectitude. We believe in it, and we will not associate with our Lord anyone. 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 and that [we were mistaken when] we thought that neither man nor [any of] the invisible forces would ever tell a lie about God. 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 They thought, as you did, that God would never raise up anyone from the dead. 7 And we stretched towards heaven, but we found it filled with terrible guards and meteors. 8 There, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. 9 We do not know if this means ill for the dwellers of the earth, or their Lord wishes guidance for them. 10 Some of us are righteous, while others are not; we follow divergent paths. 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden. 13 Some of us have come to submission, and some of us are iniquitous.'" Those who have submitted have taken the right course; 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; 17 The places of worship belong to God; so call not, along with God, upon anyone. 18 "Yet when the Devotee of Allah stands forth to invoke Him, they just make round him a dense crowd." 19
