Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say, [O Muhammad], "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur'an. 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 We thought that no man or jinn could ever tell lies about God. 5 But there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. 6 'And they thought as you thought, that Allah will not send any Messenger (to mankind or jinns). 7 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 We know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 And of us some are Muslims, and of us some are deviators. Then whosoever hath embraced Islam - such have endeavoured after a path of rectitude. 14 but those who have deviated shall become the fuel of Gehenna (Hell). 15 Would they but go straight on the way, We would give them to drink of water copious, 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 Do not prostrate before anyone other than Him. When the servant of God (Muhammad) preached (his message) the jinn would all crowd around him. 19
