Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ (Muhammad), say, "It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), "We heard an amazing reading 1 that guides to the Right Path. We believe in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord. 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 The ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against Allah, 4 And that we thought that men and jinn did not utter a lie against Allah: 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 And (the Jinn who had listened to the Qur'an said): We had sought the heaven but had found it filled with strong warders and meteors. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 'There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way (religious sect, etc.). 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 and that “when we heard the teaching of the Right Way we came to believe in it; he who believes in His Lord shall have no fear of suffering loss or being subjected to any injustice”; 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 And the prostrations are for Allah; wherefore call not along with Allah anyone. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
