Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Say, "It has been revealed to me that a band of the jinn listened [to the Quran] and they said, "We have heard a really wonderful recital, 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; 4 And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie. 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) - 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 And so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends to guide them. 10 Just as [we do not know how it happens] that some from among us are righteous, while some of us are [far] below that: we have always followed widely divergent paths. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 Hence, as soon as we heard this [call to His] guidance, we came to believe in it: and he who believes in his Sustainer need never have fear of loss or injustice. 13 'Amongst us are some that submit their wills (to Allah), and some that swerve from justice. Now those who submit their wills - they have sought out (the path) of right conduct: 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 And proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that ‘Had they remained upright on the straight path, We would have given them abundant water.’ 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
