Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 ‘That guides to the path of goodness, we have therefore accepted faith in it; and we shall never ascribe anyone as a partner to our Lord.’ 2 for [we know] that sublimely exalted is our Sustainer's majesty: no consort has He ever taken unto Himself, nor a son! 3 And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie. 4 And lo! we had supposed that humankind and jinn would not speak a lie concerning Allah - 5 Some men used to seek refuge with the jinn in the past, but that only increased their insolence. 6 Those people thought, like you, that God would never send down a Messenger. 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 When we heard the call to guidance, we believed in it. He who believes in his Lord has no fear of loss or of injustice. 13 And there are among us some who have surrendered (to Allah) and there are among us some who are unjust. And whoso hath surrendered to Allah, such have taken the right path purposefully. 14 And as for the deviators, for Hell they shall be fuel. 15 If people were to keep firmly to the Right Way, We would have vouchsafed them abundant rain 16 In order to try them through it. But whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, will be given increasing torment by Him." 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 And that when the servant of Allah stood up calling upon Him, they wellnigh crowded him (to death). 19
