Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 which guides people to the right path and we believe in it. We shall never consider anyone equal to our Lord; 2 and exalted is the majesty of our Lord, He has taken neither a wife nor a son. 3 Certainly the foolish among us say preposterous things of God. 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 And that persons from among men used to seek refuge with persons from among jinn, so they increased them in wrongdoing: 6 And that they thought as you think, that Allah would not raise anyone: 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 notwithstanding that we were established in positions [which we had thought well-suited] to listening to [whatever secrets might be in] it: and anyone who now [or ever] tries to listen will [likewise] find a flame lying in wait for him! 9 And we know not whether harm is boded unto all who are in the earth, or whether their Lord intendeth guidance for them. 10 For some of us are upright and some otherwise: Surely we follow different ways. 11 And we know that we cannot escape from Allah in the earth, nor can we escape by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 but as for those who have deviated, they have become firewood for Gehenna!"' 15 And proclaim (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), “I have received the divine revelation that ‘Had they remained upright on the straight path, We would have given them abundant water.’ 16 as a trial for them. God will make those who disregard the guidance from their Lord suffer increasing torment. 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 When the devotee of God stood up to invoke Him (the jinns) crowded upon him (to listen). 19
