Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say: 'It is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "We have indeed heard a wonderful Koran, 1 Which guideth unto righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner unto our Lord. 2 And He - exalted be the majesty of our Lord! hath taken neither a spouse nor a son. 3 ‘And that the fool among us used to utter false exaggerations against Allah.’ 4 We had in fact thought that men and jinns would never speak a lie about God, 5 But there were certain men of mankind who would take refuge with certain men of the jinn, and they increased them in vileness, 6 'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment). 7 And we sought to reach the heaven; then we found it filled with a strong guard and darting meteors. 8 We would sit there on seats to hear; but any listening now finds a meteor in wait for him. 9 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 'But we think that we can by no means frustrate Allah throughout the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 Now that we have listened to the guidance, we believe in it. Whoever believes in his Lord does not need to fear loss or oppression. 13 'And of us some are Muslims (who have submitted to Allah, after listening to this Quran), and of us some are Al-Qasitun (disbelievers those who have deviated from the Right Path)'. And whosoever has embraced Islam (i.e. has become a Muslim by submitting to Allah), then such have sought the Right Path." 14 but those who deviated from the Truth, will be the fuel for Hell.” 15 And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah; 18 and when Allah's servant stood up to call on Him, they well-nigh swarmed him. 19
