Jinns (Al-Jinn)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ (Muhammad), say, "It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), "We heard an amazing reading 1 that guides to the Right Path. We believe in it and we will not associate anyone with our Lord. 2 and that “He – exalted be His Majesty – has not taken to Himself either a wife or a son”; 3 The fool among us spoke against God outrage, 4 and we had thought that men and jinn would never speak against God a lie. 5 "Certain human beings sought refuge with certain jinn and this increased the rebelliousness of those jinn. 6 And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. 7 ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ 8 And we used to sit on places (high) therein to listen. But he who listeneth now findeth a flame in wait for him; 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 And among us there are righteous folk and among us there are far from that. We are sects having different rules. 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 And some of us have surrendered, and some of us have deviated. Those who have surrendered sought rectitude; 14 'But those who swerve,- they are (but) fuel for Hell-fire'- 15 If they had followed the right path, We would have provided them with abundant rain -- 16 "That We might try them by that (means). But if any turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to undergo a severe Penalty. 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 ‘And that when Allah’s bondman stood up to worship Him, the jinns had almost crowded upon him.’” 19
