Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ (Muhammad), say, "It has been revealed to me that a party of jinn has listened (to the recitation) of the Quran and has told (their people), "We heard an amazing reading 1 'It gives guidance to the Right, and we have believed therein: we shall not join (in worship) any (gods) with our Lord. 2 our Lord is too exalted to have either a wife or son. 3 'There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah; 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 And persons among humankind have been seeking refuge with persons of the jinn, so that they increased them in evil disposition. 6 and that “they thought, even as you thought, that Allah would never raise anyone (as a Messenger)”; 7 ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ 8 We sat in observatories to listen; but any one who listened found a shooting star in wait for him. 9 And so we know not whether evil is intended for those in the earth, or whether their Lord intends for them rectitude. 10 ‘And among us some are virtuous and some are the other type; we are split into several branches.’ 11 We knew that we could never challenge God whether we stayed on earth or fled elsewhere. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 ‘And that some among us are Muslims and some are the unjust; and whoever has accepted Islam – it is they who have thought rightly.’ 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 Had they (jinn and mankind) remained steadfast in their religion (Islam), We would certainly have given them abundant water to drink 16 so that We might try them through this bounty. Whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord, He will cause him to suffer a grievous chastisement; 17 Mosques belong to Allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than Allah. 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19
