Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
20 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Pen (Al-Qalam) before The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O thou enwrapped! 1 Keep watch all the night except some, 2 Half of it,- or a little less, 3 Or add (a little) thereto - and chant the Qur'an in measure, 4 For we shall charge thee with a word of weight. 5 Indeed getting up in the night is tougher, and the words flow with strength. 6 True, there is for thee by day prolonged occupation with ordinary duties: 7 Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Lord of the eastern and western regions, with due sincerity. 8 [He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs. 9 And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the deniers, who live a life of comfort, and bear with them a little longer. 11 Verily, with Us are fetters (to bind them), and a raging Fire. 12 food that chokes and painful punishment 13 On the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down. 14 Surely We have sent to you an Apostle, a witness against you, as We sent an apostle to Firon. 15 But Firon disobeyed the apostle, so We laid on him a violent hold. 16 How then, if ye disbelieve, shall ye escape, on a Day which shall make children grey-headed? 17 [the Day] on which the skies shall be rent asunder, [and] His promise [of resurrection] fulfilled? 18 Verily this is an Admonition: therefore, whoso will, let him take a (straight) path to his Lord! 19

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
