In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O thou enwrapped! 1 Keep awake [in prayer] at night, all but a small part 2 Half of it, or a little less than that, 3 Or add (a little) thereto - and chant the Qur'an in measure, 4 Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. 5 Surely in the watches of the night the soul is most receptive and words more telling. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 And remember the Name of thy Lord, and devote thyself unto Him very devoutly. 8 [He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs. 9 Bear patiently with what they say, and ignore them politely. 10 And leave them to Me – these wealthy deniers – and give them some respite. 11 We have in store for them heavy fetters and a blazing Fire, 12 And a food that chokes, and a painful torment. 13 On a day when the earth and the mountains will tremble, and the mountains turn into dunes of flowing sand. 14 Verily We! We have sent unto you an apostle, a witness over you, even as We sent unto Fir'awn an apostle. 15 But Fir'aun (Pharaoh) disobeyed the Messenger [Musa (Moses)], so We seized him with a severe punishment. 16 How, then, will you guard yourselves, if you disbelieve, on the day which shall make children grey-headed? 17 And the heaven shall be split therein. His promise indeed must be fulfilled. 18 Surely this is a reminder, then let him, who will take the way to his Lord. 19
