Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O thou folded in garments! 1 Rise to pray in the night except a little, 2 A half of it or a little less 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. 5 Lo! the vigil of the night is (a time) when impression is more keen and speech more certain. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations. 7 And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with (exclusive) devotion. 8 The Sustainer of the east and the west [is He]: there is no deity save Him: hence, ascribe to Him alone the power to determine thy fate, 9 Bear with patience what they say, and gracefully come away from them. 10 Leave it to Me to deal with the deniers, who live a life of comfort, and bear with them a little longer. 11 Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire, 12 And a Food that chokes, and a Penalty Grievous. 13 On the day when the earth and the mountains shall quake and the mountains shall become (as) heaps of sand let loose. 14 Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness over you, just as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh. 15 Then Fir'awn disobeyed the apostle, wherefore We laid hold of him with a painful hold. 16 Then how, if ye disbelieve, will ye protect yourselves upon the day which will turn children grey, 17 The very heaven being then rent asunder. His promise is to be fulfilled. 18 Verily this is an admonition; let him therefore, who will, choose a way unto his Lord. 19
