O you the (sleeping) enwrapped one! 1 Keep awake [in prayer] at night, all but a small part 2 (Worship Him) for more or less than half of the night 3 or a little more; and with recitation, recite the Koran. 4 Behold, We shall bestow upon thee a weighty message 5 [and,] verily, the hours of night impress the mind most strongly and speak with the clearest voice, 6 Indeed during the day you have a long schedule of occupations. 7 Remember the Name of your Lord and dedicate yourself devoutly to Him. 8 [He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs. 9 Bear with patience what they say, and gracefully come away from them. 10 Leave Me to those who cry lies, those prosperous ones, and respite them a little, 11 Surely with Us are heavy fetters and a flaming fire, 12 And food that chokes and a painful punishment - 13 On the Day when the earth and the mountains will be in violent shake, and the mountains will be a heap of sand poured out and flowing down. 14 Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger. 15 But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure. 16 If you persist in disbelieving, how will you guard yourself against the (woe of the) Day that will turn children grey-haired, 17 The very heaven being then rent asunder. His promise is to be fulfilled. 18 This is indeed an advice; so whoever wishes may take the path towards his Lord. 19
