The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn. 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 And your clothing purify 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 And do not favour others in order to receive more. 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 When the trumpet is sounded,. 8 So that is a tough day. 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Leave Me with him whom I created alone, 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And sons present by his side. 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 And who yet coveteth that shall increase. 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then he looked round; 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 it scorches the skin; 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 We have not appointed the guards of hell, except angels; and did not keep this number except to test the disbelievers – in order that the People given the Book(s) may be convinced, and to increase the faith of the believers – and so that the People given the Book(s) and the Muslims may not have any doubt – and so that those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers, may say, “What does Allah mean by this amazing example?” This is how Allah sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills; and no one knows the armies of Allah except Him; and this is not but an advice to man. 31
