The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O thou enveloped in thy cloak, 1 Rise up and warn! 2 And thine Lord magnify! 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 And pollution shun. 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 And [warn all men that] when the trumpet-call [of resurrection] is sounded, 8 that will surely be a hard day, 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 and sons that stand in witness. 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 and who still desires more. 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then he looked round; 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what could make thee conceive what hell-fire is? 27 It does not allow to live, and neither leaves [to die,] 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
