The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O you enveloped in your cloak! 1 arise and warn, 2 Thy Lord magnify 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 and flee from the statues! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 For when the trumpet shall sound, 8 That, at that time, shall be a difficult day, 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And sons abiding in his presence 13 And made (life) smooth for him. 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 Never! For he is an enemy to Our signs! 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 And once more let him be cursed, how he plotted! 20 He looked (at others); 21 frowned and scowled; 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It lets nothing remain and leaves nothing [unburned], 28 Scorching the skin. 29 over it are nineteen. 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31
