The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and deliver thy warning! 2 And your Lord (Allah) magnify! 3 and purify your robes, 4 And banish all trepidation. 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 It will be a day of distress, 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with him whom I alone have created, 11 And then granted him resources in abundance. 12 And sons dwelling in his presence, 13 And made several preparations for him. 14 and who still greedily desires that I should bestow upon him more. 15 Nay, verily, it is against Our messages that he knowingly, stubbornly sets himself 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 May he be condemned! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 Then he frowned and he looked in a bad tempered way; 22 Then he turned back and was haughty; 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 We have appointed none but angels as the keepers of the Fire, and We have not made their number but as a trial for the unbelievers so that those who have been endowed with the Book will be convinced and the believers' faith will increase, and neither those who have been endowed with the Book nor the believers will fall into any doubt. As for those in whose hearts there is a sickness as well as the unbelievers, they will say: “What did Allah aim at by this strange parable?” Thus does Allah let whomsoever He pleases to go astray, and directs whomsoever He pleases to the Right Way. And none knows the hosts of your Lord but He. (And Hell has only been mentioned here) that people may take heed. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
