The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 arise and warn, 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And thine raiment purify. 4 And all defilement shun! 5 Do not bestow favours in expectation of return, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 And to whom I granted extensive wealth 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! 16 We shall make him suffer the torment of hell without relief. 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned away, and was haughty. 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I shall surely roast him in Sakar; 26 What do you think Hell-fire is? 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Above it are nineteen. 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
