The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise, and warn, 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 And your garments purify! 4 And stay away from idols. 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 that will surely be a hard day, 9 and for the disbelievers, in particular, it will not be at all easy. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 And give him vast riches, 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 I will cover him with arduous torment. 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then he looked around, 21 frowned and scowled, 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 "This is nothing but the word of a mortal!" 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 Would that you really knew what hell is! 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
