The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 thy robes purify 4 And all defilement shun! 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 And for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 and sons standing before him, 13 And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. 14 Then he desires that I should add more. 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Behold, [when Our messages are conveyed to one who is bent on denying the truth,] he reflects and meditates [as to how to disprove them] 18 May he be accursed, how he planned! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 This is naught but the word of a mortal. 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves nothing, nor does it spare; 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 Over it are nineteen (angels as guardians and keepers of Hell). 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
