The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
O YOU ENFOLDED in your mantle (of reform), 1 arise, and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 And all abomination shun! 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 it will be a hard day 9 for the unbelievers not easy. 10 Let Me alone with him whom I created lonely. 11 and designated for him ample wealth, 12 And children to be by his side! 13 And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 and thus he destroys himself, the way he meditates: 19 Again, may he be cursed how he plotted; 20 Then he looked round; 21 And frowned and puckered his brow, 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 and said, "This is nothing but sorcery from the ancients. 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 We have appointed none but angels to guard the Fire, and made their number only as a trial for the unbelievers, so that those to whom the Book was given are certain and those who believe increase in belief. And that those who were given the Book, and those who believe will not be in doubt. And that those in whose hearts there is a sickness, together with the unbelievers, may say: 'What did Allah intend by this as an example' As such, Allah leaves in error whom He will and He guides whomsoever He will. None knows the hosts of your Lord except He. This is no more than a Reminder to humans. 31

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
