The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise, and warn! 2 and exalt your Lord, 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 shun uncleanness; 5 Give not, thinking to gain greater 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 When the Trumpet shall be sounded, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 Not of ease, for disbelievers. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 and appointed for him ample wealth 12 and children living in his presence, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 Never. He is refractory of Our signs. 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 Then turned he back, and grew stiff-necked. 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 “This is nothing but the speech of a man.” 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It spares not (any sinner), nor does it leave (anything unburnt)! 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
