The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 and defilement flee! 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 it will be a hard day 9 Dolorous for the unbelievers. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 whom I have endowed with abundant riches, 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 Yet he wants that I should give him more. 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 Verily, he thought and plotted; 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 Then he beheld, 21 frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 said, "This (the Quran) is nothing but magic, inherited from ancient magicians. 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 [Hence,] I shall cause him to endure hell-fire [in the life to come]! 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 And We have set none but angels as Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed their number only as a trial for Unbelievers,- in order that the People of the Book may arrive at certainty, and the Believers may increase in Faith,- and that no doubts may be left for the People of the Book and the Believers, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the Unbelievers may say, "What symbol doth Allah intend by this?" Thus doth Allah leave to stray whom He pleaseth, and guide whom He pleaseth: and none can know the forces of thy Lord, except He and this is no other than a warning to mankind. 31
