The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O THOU [in thy solitude] enfolded! 1 Arise and warn, 2 Thy Lord magnify 3 Purify your inner self, 4 shun uncleanness; 5 do not bestow a favour in the expectation of receiving more in return; 6 and be patient unto thy Lord. 7 For when the trumpet shall sound, 8 So that is a tough day. 9 not an easy day for the unbelievers. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 and sons standing before him, 13 I made things smooth and easy for him, 14 and who still desires more. 15 By no means! Verily he hath been unto Our signs a foe. 16 Anon I shall afflict him with a fearful woe. 17 Indeed, he thought and deliberated. 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then he looked around, 21 Then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then turned his back and waxed proud, 23 Then said he: "This is nothing but magic, derived from of old; 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 I will drive him into Saqar. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 scorching the flesh; 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 We have appointed only angels to be wardens of the Fire. We have specified their number only as a trial for those who are bent on denying the truth, so that those who were given the Book might gain in certainty, and those who believe might increase in faith -- and so that neither those who have been given the Scripture nor the believers might have any doubts, and that those sick at heart and those who deny the truth might ask, "What does God mean by this parable?" In this way, God lets go astray whom He wills, and guides whom He wills. And none knows the forces of your Lord but He. This is but a Reminder for man. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
