The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn! 2 Proclaim the glory of your Lord; 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And bestow not favors that you may receive again with increase, 6 And for the good-will of thy Lord be thou patient. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 that Day will be a hard and distressing Day. 9 and it will not be easy for the unbelievers. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 and to whom I have granted resources vast, 12 And gave him sons present before him. 13 and whom I have provided with every resource, 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 Nay, verily, it is against Our messages that he knowingly, stubbornly sets himself 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Verily he considered, and devised. 18 death seized him, how was his determining! 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 Then looked he, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 then he retreated and waxed proud, 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 making [all truth] visible to mortal man. 29 Above it are nineteen. 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31
