The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 arise, and warn! 2 and magnify the glory of your Lord, 3 And thy garments keep free from stain! 4 And pollution shun. 5 Give not, thinking to gain greater 6 But, for thy Lord's (Cause), be patient and constant! 7 And when the trumpet is blown, 8 that day will be a harsh day, 9 not of ease, for all who [now] deny the truth! 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 and designated for him ample wealth, 12 and sons standing before him, 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 yet he is eager that I increase him. 15 Nay! For lo! he hath been stubborn to Our revelations. 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 And again perish he! How maliciously he devised! 20 Then looked he, 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 then he retreated and grew proud 23 Then he said: This is naught but enchantment, narrated (from others); 24 Nothing more than the speech of a man!" 25 Soon I will cast him into hell. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It neither leaves, nor spares. 28 Blackening the skins. 29 Over it are nineteen [angels]. 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
