The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Arise and warn, 2 And thine Lord magnify! 3 And thine raiment purify. 4 stay away from sins 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 be patient unto your Lord. 7 Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing); 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 Far from easy for those without Faith. 10 Leave Me (to deal) with him whom I created lonely, 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 And sons to be by his side!- 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 After all that he desires that I should give more; 15 By no means; he is stubbornly opposed to Our Signs. 16 I shall force him to endure a painful uphill climb! 17 He reflected, and then determined 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 Then he looked around, 21 then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then turned he away in pride 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 'this is nothing but mortal speech.' 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- 28 It scorches people's skin 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 And We have not made the wardens of the fire others than angels, and We have not made their number but as a trial for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the book may be certain and those who believe may increase in faith, and those who have been given the book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the unbelievers may say: What does Allah mean by this parable? Thus does Allah make err whom He pleases, and He guides whom He pleases, and none knows the hosts of your Lord but He Himself; and this is naught but a reminder to the mortals. 31
