The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you (Prophet Muhamad), the cloaked, 1 arise and warn, 2 and magnify the glory of your Lord, 3 Purify your inner self, 4 And pollution shun. 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allah)! 7 And when the trumpet is blown, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave him to Me, the one whom I created single. 11 and designated for him ample wealth, 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 and made all things smooth for him; 14 Yet he desires that I should give more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 I will make a distressing punishment overtake him. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 Then may he be destroyed [for] how he deliberated. 20 He looked (at others); 21 Then frowned he and scowled. 22 and in the end he turns his back [on Our message,] and glories in his arrogance, 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 These are only words from a mere mortal". 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It leaveth naught; it spareth naught 28 it scorches the skin; 29 Over it are nineteen (angels guarding). 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
