The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thine Lord magnify! 3 Purify your inner self, 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And bestow not favour that thou mayest receive more. 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 Not easy upon the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 And give him vast riches, 12 and children living in his presence, 13 And made life smooth and comfortable for him! 14 then he is eager that I should do more. 15 Never will he receive more. He has been hostile to Our revelations. 16 I shall inflict on him hardship, 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 and woe to him; how he plotted! 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 Then he looked round; 21 then he frowned, and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 and said: “This (Qur'an) is merely a sorcery of yore; 24 This is nothing but the word of mortal man!" 25 I will soon fling him into hell. 26 And what do you know what Hell is? 27 It spares not, neither leaves alone 28 it scorches (even) the skin. 29 and it has nineteen angelic keepers. 30 And We have appointed none but the angels to be wardens of the Fire. And their number we have made only a trial for those who disbelieve, so that those who are vouchsafed the Book may be convinced, and that those who believe may increase in faith, and that those who are vouchsafed the Book and the believers may not doubt, and that those in whose hearts is a disease and the infidels may say: what meaneth Allah by this description! In this wise Allah sendeth astray whomsoever He will, and guideth whomsoever He will. And none knoweth the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but an admonition unto man. 31
