The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 Arise and warn 2 And thy Lord do thou magnify! 3 And thine inner self purify! 4 And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! 5 And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah's obedience as a favour to Allah). 6 but unto thy Sustainer turn in patience. 7 When the Trumpet is sounded, 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave to Me the one, whom I have created all by Myself, 11 and designated for him ample wealth, 12 and sons standing before him, 13 And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life]. 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 No! Indeed, he has been toward Our verses obstinate. 16 Soon I shall mount him on Saood, the hill of fire. 17 Lo! He reflected, and determined -- 18 (Self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 Then he looked round; 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 Then he said: naught is this but magic from of old; 24 It is nothing but the word of a mortal' 25 I will cast him into Hell-fire 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It shall not spare, nor leave. 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 Above it are nineteen guards. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
