The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you who are clothed! 1 Arise and warn, 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 Thy raiment purify, 4 And uncleanness do shun, 5 And do not through giving seek thyself to gain, 6 And for the sake of your Lord, patiently endure. 7 And [warn all men that] when the trumpet-call [of resurrection] is sounded, 8 That will be- that Day - a Day of Distress,- 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me alone, (to deal) with the (creature) whom I created (bare and) alone!- 11 And gave him vast wealth. 12 and sons standing before him, 13 whose life I have made run smoothly 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 By no means! For to Our Signs he has been refractory! 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 He planned and plotted. 18 Perish he! How maliciously he devised! 19 What an evil plan he has made! 20 Then looked he, 21 and then he frowns and glares, 22 Then he turned back and was proud; 23 and said: 'This is no more than traced sorcery; 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 and what will teach thee what is Sakar? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 scorching the flesh; 29 Over it are Nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
