The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
56 verses, revealed in Mecca after Unknown Person (Al-Muzzammil) before The Key (Al-Faatehah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O you who covers himself [with a garment], 1 Arise and warn! 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 and purify your robes, 4 Pollution shun! 5 And show not favour, seeking wordly gain! 6 and for the sake of your Lord, be patient. 7 Then, when the Trumpet is sounded (i.e. its second blowing); 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 It will not be easy for those who deny the truth. 10 Leave Me Alone (to deal) with whom I created Alone (without any means, i.e. Al-Walid bin Al-Mughirah Al-Makhzumi)! 11 and whom I have granted abundant wealth 12 and children as [love's] witnesses, 13 and to whose life I gave so wide a scope: 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give yet more! 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 I shall oblige him to (climb a slippery mountain in the Hell-fire called As-Sa'ud, or to) face a severe torment! 17 For lo! he did consider; then he planned - 18 But may he be cursed how he plotted; 19 Again, death seize him, how he determined! 20 Then he looked, 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 And said: "This is nothing but the magic of old, 24 "This is nothing but the word of a human being!" 25 Soon will I cast him into Hell-Fire! 26 And what will explain to thee what Hell-Fire is? 27 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- 28 It glows and burns the skin. 29 Over it are appointed nineteen. 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
